The Purge is coming! Romania’s Constitutional Court rules fake profiles as criminal offenses

🔥The ruling came as a result of a case of public shaming and it’s opening a can of worms through out the social media environment. Besides the direct aftermath – all owners of malicious fake profiles that impersonate other persons can be trialed and sentenced – the ruling gives Facebook, alongside other EU regulations, the power and incentive to conduct a purge of fake profiles in Romania.The date at which this will happen its still up for debate, but from past experiences, it will be sooner, rather then later.

😱 This posses a treat for a practice in Romania’s social media management. While working with numerous politicians, public figures or brands, we have seen a pattern: the social media manager of these uses a fake profile to manage all accounts, so that it keeps his personal profile “safe”, unattached.
